GeneralFlame patented AVLS rotary kiln burner introduces secondary air through a diffuser into the burner's axial, swirl, and center air channels. Unlike traditional burners that can only adjust the air volume entering each channel via valves (valve animation), the AVLS burner achieves wide-ranging flame shape adjustments through Laval-adjustable nozzles and adjustable swirlers, significantly improving the burner's process regulation capability. It is particularly well-suited for long-flame firing requirements in rotary kilns with high length-to-diameter ratios, such as those used in nickel-iron and lithium battery production.

The design of this long-flame gas burner is based on the following key principles:
Flame Length Determination‌: The longer the flame, the greater the gas flow (or pressure) or output power. For a given gas flow or pressure, flame length primarily depends on the mixing rate of gas and combustion air, which is mainly determined by the burner's unit thrust (i.e., the momentum of the primary air and the air flow rate per unit time). The flame is formed by the jet stream, and the size of the jet stream is determined by momentum (M). According to the momentum equation M = A × V, the smaller the primary air volume (A), the longer the flame.

1. Increase Axial Thrust and add a Flame Stabilizing Hood‌: Higher axial thrust (increased air velocity) elongates the flame. A flame stabilizing hood at the front of the axial outlet can appropriately reduce the lateral spread of the flame, resulting in a more uniform flame.
2. Adjustable Flame Shape‌: The burner must be capable of adjusting the flame shape by varying the swirl angle, swirl velocity, and axial velocity.
3. Center Air Design‌: The center air should use a circular nozzle parallel jet to create an internal recirculation zone in the middle of the flame. This not only elongates the flame but also reduces the peak temperature gradient, stabilizing the flame.
