Ferrosilicon

The process from raw materials to finished product (FeSi) includes the full production cycle of raw material storage, fuel acceptance, batching, mixing, reduction, and tapping. Key equipment includes the ferrosilicon furnace, raw material processing workshop, automatic batching system, feeding system, cooling water circulation system, dust removal system, power supply and distribution system, automation system, ferrosilicon casting workshop, and finished product handling system. The process complies with the requirements of ‌GB/T 2272‌.

01
Raw Material Acceptance
The furnace feed consists of ‌quartzite and coke‌. Raw materials are stored separately in the raw material yard and, when needed, are crushed and screened. Qualified materials are transported to the batching room via belt conveyors.
02
Batching
In the batching room, various raw materials are proportioned according to the set ratios using ‌variable-speed disc feeders and electronic belt scales‌ under the batching hoppers. To ensure stable composition and high-quality mixed charge, all batching is conducted centrally in the batching room.
03
Feeding
The prepared mixed charge is transported via belt conveyor to a ‌charging car‌, which delivers it to the furnace hopper via an inclined bridge. Each hopper is equipped with a ‌manual slide gate valve‌. When the furnace requires charge, the valve is opened to discharge material into the furnace.
04
Furnace Operation
The mixed charge is fed into the furnace through a chute and spread evenly by workers. ‌Electrode paste‌ is transported to the operating platform via the feeding system and added periodically based on electrode consumption. High-voltage power is stepped down by a transformer and supplied to the electrode copper busbars. The mixed charge undergoes a ‌reduction reaction‌ in the furnace at high temperatures generated by electrical energy, ultimately producing ferrosilicon.
05
Tapping
The molten ferrosilicon is tapped from the furnace at regular intervals (typically every two hours) and flows into a ‌ladle‌.
06
Casting Process
The molten iron is transported to the casting area via a ladle car. A crane lifts the ladle to pour the metal into molds. After cooling, the molds are stripped, the castings are broken, and the finished product is transported to the warehouse for sale.
